Obituary of Frances Bamburg Smith
June 5, 2003

Services for Frances Bamburg Smith, age 66, of Columbia will be 
held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2003 from the chapel of Riser
Funeral Home in Columbia Rev. Tommy Nelson and Tommy Bam-
burg officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hebert Cemetery.
  
Mrs. Smith was born in Hebert on September 19, 1936 to the union
of Thomas and Florence Ellis Bamburg and died Tuesday, June 3,
2003 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a brief illness.

She was a PCA worker for Care Solutions and had worked for 30
years at the Caldwell Parish Recreation Center in Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Ivy Bamburg.

Survivors include her husband: Willie Ray Smith of Columbia, her
son: Michael Smith of Columbia, her daughters: Deb Riser of Brandon,
Ms. and Kim Smith of Columbia, her brothers: Tommy Bamburg of
Grayson and Robert Bamburg of Columbia, her sisters: Beatrice
Shipp of Clarks, Myrtle Garner and Helen Foster of West Monroe,
Katie Gough of Iowa, La. and Edna Shipp of Columbia, her grandchildren:
Wes Nelson, Tara Kinnison, Kelsey Kinnison and Jake Smith, and her
great-grandson: Clay Nelson.

Pallbearers  are Darrell Shipp, Jimmy Emmons, Tommy Foster, Danny
Emmons, Charles Bamburg and Johnny Hatten.
