Merlin Toups

Merlin Mire Toups, 73, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died April 7, 2005.

Visitation will be 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Co-cathedral in 
Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at 
the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Claiborne "Skipper" Toups; daughters and sons-in-
law, Terry T. and Patrick "Boot" Blakeman, Sheila T. and Calvin Boudreaux and 
Laura T. Theriot; sisters, Lee Womack, Lois Bergeron, Jerry Braud, Ida Boudreaux 
and Deanna Kittle; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claiborne "Clay" Toups; parents, Harry 
D. and Ida Kerne Mire; and brother, Harry "Butsy" Mire.

Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
