Joseph Champagne Jr.				[Photo]

Joseph "J.D." Duval Champagne Jr., 80, a native of Theriot, former resident of 
Houma and resident of Lake Arthur, died at 12:07 p.m. Feb. 13, 2005.

Visitation will be 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in 
Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the 
church, with burial at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Champagne III; daughters, Charlene C. Hay and 
Pamela C. Monceaux; stepdaughter, Sarah Kennedy of Moss Bluff and Betty Giles of 
Alexandria; sister, Ione Bonvillain of Houma; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Foster Champagne; parents, 
Joseph Duval Champagne and Albina Pellegrin Champagne; grandparents, Vital and 
Lelia Pellegrin, Theodore and Laura Champagne. He was a retired tool pusher with 
Superior Oil Co.

He was a former eucharistic minister at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and a 
member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur. He was a former 
member of Krewe of Flames
