Alton Dufrene

Alton Dufrene, 75, a native of Gheens and resident of Lockport, died 9:15 p.m. 
Nov. 14, 2005.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home in Raceland and 7 to 
11 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens. A Mass of Christian 
burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at the 
church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dufrene; son and daughter-in-law, Michael 
and Elaine Dufrene; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Dufrene and companion 
Larry Chauvin, Pam and Arthur Plaisance, Carol and Brandi Gautreaux, Donna and 
Richard Folse, Angelle and Jamie Plaisance, Jessica Dufrene and fiancee David 
Bryant; brother Elden Dufrene; sisters Mary Jane Dufrene and Patricia Dufrene; 
13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae C. Dufrene; parents, Assesia and 
Nacey Dufrene; son Joseph Dufrene; brother Jerry Dufrene.

He loved to hunt, fish and dance.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
