George Pontiff						[Photo]

George Francis Pontiff, 71, a native and resident of Houma, died at 9:10 p.m. 
Nov. 1, 2005.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. 
Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be 
celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial at St. Louis Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Klingman Pontiff; sons Ricky, Michael, Mark 
and Greg Pontiff; daughter Julie P. Arcement; brothers Edward Jr., Gene and 
Gerard Pontiff; sister Marie Pontiff Lapeyre; stepbrothers Lance Jr., Larry and 
Daniel Brien; stepsisters Beverly B. Fenton and Bonnie B. Caro; and nine 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph Pontiff Sr. and Laura 
Martin Pontiff; stepfather Lance Brien; stepbrother Johnnie Brien; and 
stepsister Margie Brien Giglio.

He was a retired plant foreman who served 38 years at Freeport McMoran.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
