Melissa Mills Nelson, 83, a native of Paincourtville and resident of Klotzville, 
died Nov. 12, 2005.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Baptist Church in 
Paincourtville. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the 
church, with burial at the church cemetery.

She is survived by her sons Spencer and Edgar Nelson Jr. of Donaldsonville, 
Frank and Lenroy Nelson of Klotzville, Stanley Nelson of Baton Rouge and Donald 
Nelson of Chicago; brothers Morrell, Ruben and Herbert Mills, all of 
Paincourtville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other 
relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Nelson Sr.; sons Jerome and 
Kenneth Nelson; brothers Leonard, Ivory Jr., Benjamin, Hayward, Herman, Howard 
and Adam Nelson; sisters Maggalee Jones and Rosanna Brown.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
