Louise Hampton was born Feb. 17, 1934, in Thibodaux, and died Thursday, July
18, 2013. Funeral services were Saturday at Barnett Chapel Church of God in
Christ, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by
her sons, Bernard (Vernal) Bernell, James Ray, Curtis, Ralph, Ronald (Linda)
Lee and Harold David; brother, Cleveland Robinson; sister, Cecile Rushing;
eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her husband, James Hampton. Gabriel Funeral Home was in charge of

Jennifer Fonseca Harrington, 45, a native and resident of Houma, died

Virginia Trahan Harris, 79, a native of Scott, longtime resident of Grand
Isle and current resident of Houma, died at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013,
from complications following valve replacement surgery. Visitation will be
from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with
burial at a later date. She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Harris,
of Houma; son, Jody Adam and wife, Dot; daughters, June Bass and husband,
Bob, and Karen Adam; grandchildren, Belinda Bass, Ross Adam, Robert Bass
Jr., Kassi Ballard and Austin Adam; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Gracie
Ballard and Asher Bass; sister, Verdie T. Arnold; and numerous godchildren,
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Valsin Trahan
and Marie Ophelia Lantier Trahan; son, Keith S. Adam; and siblings, Lucille
Hargrove, Marie Santiny, Bertha Pepper, Elson Trahan Sr., Lula Mae Stevens
and Nelson Trahan. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary
Catholic Church. She worked for Michael, her husband, while he was Mayor of
Grand Isle and followed him when he opened his own business in construction,
GIMCO. She was a fantastic wife, mother and friend. She could be the best
confidant anyone could ask for and she always took in strays, some animals
and also a child. She was a strict mother but all of her children are
grateful for the way she raised them to the time of her death. She was a
great mother-in-law and Nanny, never interfering but always there if help
was needed. She will be greatly and sadly missed by everyone who knew her,
but they will all have wonderful and great memories of her involvement in

(Died July 3, 2013) Truman Wayne Hartzog, 73, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away
July 3, 2013, at his home while surrounded by his family. He was born July
11, 1939, in Wisner, LA, a son of the late Joseph C. and Sitha (Thornhill)
Hartzog. His brother, Charles Wesley Hartzog, and a sister, Jeanette Maddox,
also preceded him in death. He was a United States Navy veteran, had worked
over 50 years in the oil field industry, and was the owner and operator of
Custom Wellhead Services, LLC. He enjoyed fishing and was a Baptist by
faith. Survivors include his wife, Connie Morgan; sons, Charles W. Hartzog
of New Orleans, LA, Tyler Hartzog of Blanchard, LA; daughters, Stephanie
Lewis of Conroe, TX, Caryn Tipton and Patsy Hartzog, both of Sissonville,
WV, and Kelly Virani of Blanchard, LA: stepsons, Harry Berry of Clendenin,
WV, Shannon Williamson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, and Greg Williamson of
Huntington, WV; stepdaughter, Alison Berry of Shreveport, LA; brother,

survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ruth Lacoste LeBlanc; sister,
Merrill LeBlanc Corney; children, Andree LeBlanc, Celeste LeBlanc (Norwood)
Norris, Luanne LeBlanc (Keith) Liederman, and Louis P. (Vickie) LeBlanc III;
and four grandchildren, Shane Arabie, Bobby Cutter, Camille LeBlanc
Liederman, and Brennen Hebert LeBlanc. He is also survived by his caring
step family, Melanie (Ronald) Gros and Arlene DeHart; seven grandchildren;
and nine great-grandchildren. Lastly, he is survived by his godchild, Dr.
Albert Henry (Helen) LeBlanc, and many wonderful cousins in the Thibodeaux
and LeBlanc families.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Louis
Pierre and Hattie Thibodaux LeBlanc. Dr. LeBlanc practiced dentistry in
Golden Meadow for 46 years. For many of those years, he shared an office
with his father who started the first dental practice in Golden Meadow in
1928. He completed high school at Thibodaux College (E.D. White today) and
attended Tulane University and Southwestern Louisiana Institute (ULL today).
He served in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954 and formed a band while
there. He graduated from Loyola University and held several leadership
positions, including president of the Bayou District Dental Society. An avid
and skilled fisherman, he was nicknamed "Louis of Meadow," and was a
founding member of the Yankee Canal Speckled Trout Rodeo. A child prodigy in
music, he provided saxophone entertainment to his friends and family over
the course of his lifetime. His departing words included advice for his
children and grandchildren, "I want you to be healthy. I want you to be
happy in life, to support one another and to love God. This is the one time
that I really hope and pray that the fun has just begun. I love you. Hi and
bye." In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Louis
LeBlanc Memorial Fund for the music department of Golden Meadow Middle

beloved husband and it provides us great comfort to know they are in each

Through her job, she touched countless lives of the children and families
who attended her story times and programs. It was Cherie ᤀs faith that
strengthened her and all those around her during her courageous battle with
cancer. She always held firm to her favorite bible verse:  á°€I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) She will be
deeply missed by all those who she inspired with her positivity and her
beautiful smile.

death by grandfathers, Fayne N. Edwards, James M. Odell. Austin played
baseball and soccer for Central Lafourche High School for 4 years. He
coached baseball for boys 11 & under (Venom Baseball). He enjoyed spending

ORDOYNE, JERRY

Jerry Joseph Ordoyne, 78, a lifelong resident and native of Thibodaux,
passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday at Thibodaux Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday
at University Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at
the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his wife,
Charlene Kay Blanke Ordoyne; children, Rodney Dean Ordoyne and Charlette O.
Marcel; grandchildren, Victoria, Jessica and Joshua Marcel, and Clint
Ordoyne; brothers, Paul, Clay and Henry Ordoyne; and sisters, Doris Samanie,
Nellie Benoit and Theresa Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Zulma and Olivier Ordoyne; brother, Francis Ordoyne; and sister, Betty
Briehn, He retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service. He was also
a member of the Thibodaux chapter of the VFW. The family would like to
extend a special thank you to Thibodaux General Home Health and St. Joseph
Hospice, for all the care, love and support in their time of need. Thibodaux
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
