Roy James Perronne Sr, 66, a native of Raceland, and resident of Thibodaux,
died May 25, 2013. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8
a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Funeral services
will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Joseph
Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anna Mae Perronne;
children, Carolyn P. Darcey and companion, Scotty Menard, and Roy Perronne
Jr. and companion, Amnisty Bergeron; grandchildren, James Darcey, Tony

Park area. She enjoyed new adventures and consequently lived for brief times
in Florida, Colorado and New York. She had a long and successful career as a
secretary for various legal firms and most recently worked for Jones-Walker

beloved wife of the late Joseph Paul Ruiz Sr. for 48 years. She was the
loving and devoted mother of Jan Ruiz and wife, Cyndi Ruiz, of Labadieville,
Jane Aucoin, of Bayou L'Ourse, Jo Anne Bergeron and husband, Daniel
Bergeron, of Bayou Vista, Joan Stoot and husband, Wayne Stoot, of Houma,
Albert Ruiz and wife, Stormy Ruiz, of Bayou L'Ourse, and Joseph Ruiz Jr. and
wife, Randi Ruiz, of Houma. She was an adoring grandmother to Jason Bailey,
Desiree Richard and husband, Dwayne Richard, Terrance Aucoin Jr. and wife,
Alana Aucoin, Justin Hebert, Joshua Ruiz, Jonathan Aucoin and wife, Jennifer

Redmond. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Luke, and

June.She was the youngest sister of Annie Deris, Carlo "C. J." Damico, Rose
Ann Deeters, and the late Mary Martin, Salvador "Sam" Damico, and Philip
Damico. She was the beloved daughter-in-law of the late Albert and Eugenie
Badeaux Ruiz. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Terrance
Aucoin Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Ruiz; and a grandson, Jeffery Beadle
Jr. Mrs. Ruiz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, confidante and
friend. She was well-known for her collection of recipes and her ability to
bring them to life. Everyone was invited to dine at her table, and those who
did knew they were in store for something wonderful. She enjoyed sharing her
culinary talent with her children and grandchildren, often teaching them the
art of cuisine and the significance behind making a meal meaningful. One of
the most vital elements to this was the conversation and bonding experience
that went along with this experience. To her, life was all about family and
togetherness. She adored her children and grandchildren and took pride in
each and every one of them. She instilled a wealth of love and respect in
everyone, encouraging them to follow their goals and ambitions and not to
settle for anything less than perfection. She was passionate about her
family; she was their quintessential matriarch. From the annual Italian fig
cookie tradition to gumbos to spaghettis, she could master it all. She had a
discerning palate and wasn't afraid to use it. She enjoyed singing and
listening to good music, playing various card games with relatives and

survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Robert G. Tujague; her loving
daughter, Robin T. Vucinovich and son-in-law, Robert M. Vucinovich Jr.; her
beloved grandchildren, Abigail E. Vucinovich and Robert M. Vucinovich III;
her brothers and sisters, Norma Messina, Linda Coglaiti, Alice MacDonald,
Linus Matherne, Floyd Matherne and Al Matherne: and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lenward and Elvina Matherne of
Gretna. Mary fought a valiant battle with stage four colon cancer beginning
in Nov. 2009. Her strong will to live, her faith in God, and the love and
prayers of family and friends carried her throughout years of chemotherapy.
Her contagious smile and laughter will never be forgotten. A native of
Gretna, she was a graduate of Archbishop Blenk High School. She was a
resident of Denham Springs for seven years following Hurricane Katrina. Mary
worked for The Women's Clinic where she was blessed to have worked with a
gracious staff and had countless friends.She was a devoted Catholic of
Immaculate Conception Church and a believer of the healing power of Father
Seelos. The family would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. Gerald
Miletello and his staff who continued to help Mary fight her battle with
perseverance. We wish to acknowledge the wonderful and compassionate care
provided by Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Dr. DeJesus, her nurse,
