In 1945 Ed joined The United States Navy and travelled to many places in the United States and it's territories serving our country.On May 7, 1947 Ed met the love of his life Vera Madeline Weber and after a short courtship, they married on February 14, 1948. After sixty-five years, she remains his loving wife. In the same year, Ed began working for South Central Bell where he continued for forty years. After multiple transfers with the company, he finally made it back to his beloved Lafourche Parish in 1977. Ed was a long-standing member of The Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight, Knight of the Year and was a distinguished member of The Fourth Degree. He was a member of the Jaycees and an active member of St. Hilary Parish where he served as a Eucharistic minister for thirty-six years. He likewise relished (and took very seriously) making cotton candy at the annual La Vie La Fourchaise. He enjoyed volunteering for various events throughout the year including the Tootsie Roll Drive every Fall.
