Gilbert Joseph Fanguy Sr., 73, a native and resident of Dulac, died Sunday, 
Feb. 2, 2014.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until funeral 
time Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 1 
p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Bernadine "Peggy" Fanguy; 
mother, Edna Francis Fanguy; sons, Gilbert "Nuggie" Fanguy Jr. and wife, 
Christi, and Paul "Chon" Fanguy; daughters, Heather Fanguy and Haley "BeeBee" 
Fanguy; grandchildren, Kyler "Kylo", Kamryn, Kelsey, Tootie, Ale, Bugga, 
Camilla, Brien, and Travis Jr.; brothers, Howard Jr., Arnold, Wilson, Leroy, 
Lucius, and McKinley Fanguy; and sisters, Elta Therien, Angelene Fanguy, Martha 
Jean, Helen Lajaunie, and Edith Martin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Fanguy Sr.; brothers, Wallace 
Sr., Roland, Allen Sr., and Jimmy Fanguy; and sister, Diana Boudreaux.

He loved to go hunting and fishing with his grandkids. He also loved to cook 
and spend time with his family.
