Pastor Kilben George LaFont Jr., 58, a native of Grand Isle and resident of 
Houma, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, while visiting the island of Roatan, off 
the coast of Honduras. 

There will be two memorial services. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. 
Saturday at the Lighthouse Church at 317 Ventura Blvd. in Houma, with 
visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. 
A second memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the old Catholic Church 
on Grand Isle, with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time. 

He is survived by his brother, Daniel W. Lafont and wife, Dawn; companion, Judy 
Zeringue; nieces, Jessica, Danielle and Jolie LaFont; nephews, Dustin LaFont 
and wife, Kim, and Jarred LaFont and wife, Shira; and one great-niece, Kennedy 
Romero. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Kilben G. LaFont Sr. and Edrie 
"Dimples" Kennedy LaFont; paternal grandparents, Joseph Eustache LaFont and 
Selina Crosby Lafont; and maternal grandparents, Forest Kennedy Sr. and Marie 
Nesser Kennedy, and Sybil Sellers Kennedy. 

Kilben was a Louisiana National Guard veteran, a member of the United Veterans 
League's Rifle Team, an ordained minister with Outcast Ministries, an usher at 
Living Word Church and a member of Bayou Blue Assembly of God Church. He 
faithfully preached the gospel and was a living testimony of God's "Amazing 
Grace." We were blessed every day to witness Jesus working in his life and the 
lives of those around him.
