Ethel Marie Verdin, 59, a native of resident of Dulac and resident of 
Nederland, Texas, for the past 13 years, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 
2014. 

Visitation will be to from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral 
time on Monday at Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro. The Rosary will be prayed 
at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday 
at the funeral home, 

with burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. 

She is survived by her daughters, Katina Johnson, of Nederland, Texas, Naomi 
Johnson, of Orange, Texas, and Nakeshia V. James and husband, Kevin, of Iowa; 
five grandchildren; sisters, Mary Johnson, of Sunset, and Lucille Ann Lyons, of 
Church Point; and brothers, James Verdin and wife, Clara, of Houma; and Jessie 
Verdin, of Church Point. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Albert Verdin and the former 
Sadie Lucille Fitch; and brothers, Henry, Junius, John Ivy, Joseph, Harry, and 
Jerry Jim Verdin. 

Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro is in charge of arrangements.
