Sale of Land from Edmond B. Richardson to George Richardson 29 March 1844
Be it Known and Remembered, that on this the twenty ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred forty four, and in the sixty eighthyear of the Independence of the United States.Before me, Jacob. J. Watts, Judge of the Parish of Livingston, in the stateaforesaid, and duly authorised by law to exercise the powers of Notary Publictherein duly commissioned and sworn, Personally came and appeared Mr. Edmond Richardson, a citizen of the Parish ofLivingston, in the said State of Louisiana, who did declare, and say, that onthe 21st day of August 1843, he acquired by public act passed before the Honorable Jacob J. Watts, Judge of the Parish of Livingston, in company withJames Richardson, his brother, certain property, therein named, from theirfather George Richardson; & for the use and purposes therein specified, Now thesaid appearer, being unable to comply with the conditions of the said sale, onhis part, & is desirous of reconveying his interest in & to the propertymentioned in the before recited act, to his said father, George Richardson, &forever cancelling the said sale, so far as he is concerned, & does herebyreconvey his interests in and to said property to the said George Richardson,with a full guaranty [sic].Then to this act personally came and appeared Mr. George Richardson, also acitizen of the Parish of Livingston, in this State, who declared that he doesaccept the said sale, reconveying the said property to this, said appearer, & does hereby consent that the said sale shall be cancelled and annulled, & thatthe said property, so far as it relates to the said Edmond Richardson, shall revert to this appearer & remain in his own name, as though the said sale beforementioned had never been passed, and by virtue of this act, releases the said Edmond Richardson from any, and all, obligations of whatsoever nature, expressed in the said act; and it is further understood, that by virtue of this act, annulling the said before recited sale, the parties are placed in every espects,in the same manner, as though no sale had ever been passed.

Thus done and passed at my office in the town of Springfield, the day, month & year first above written, in the presence of John H. Wall & Henry Duncan, witnesses of lawful age, and domiciliated in this Parish, who have hereto signed their names, together with the said appearers, & me, said Judge.
