All rights reserved. ************************************************ Salo Abrahm - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, July 19, 1935 SALO ABRAHM OF TALLULAH DIED TODAY Salo Abrahm resident of Tallulah, La. died this morning, having been brought here for treatment. Mr. Abrahm at one time made his home in this city, but in late years had been residing in Tallulah. He was engaged in the mercantile business; was a member of the Masonic Lodge and active in scout activities. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fay Abrahm, one daughter, Miss Louise Abrahm, two sons, Charles and Salo, Jr.: three sisters. Mrs. Leopold Devries and Mrs. Morris Devries, both of Newellton, La. and Mrs. Howell Holloman of San Francisco, California, and one brother, M. C. Abrahm, of New Orleans. Funeral services will be held this afternoon from Fisher's Funeral Home at 5:30 o'clock with Rabbi A. G. Lustberg officiating. The pallbearers will be as follows: Honorary: Herbert Stern, Ed Fortier, P. McCormick and Thomas Fortier, all of New Orleans. Active: Henry Kline, Ben H. Stein and Dr. B. B. Martin, all of Vicksburg, W. H. Harvey, E. P. Jones, A. J. Sevier, Dr. H. C. Sevier, M. T. Spencer and W. T. Fairly, all of Tallulah, La. and E. Morris, of Newellton, La. Interment will be in the local Jewish cemetery. From Madison Journal July 26, 1935 LAST RITES FOR SALO ABRAHM HELD IN V'BURG Prominent Merchant Dies Friday Morning In Sanitarium Funeral services for Salo Abrahm, one of the leading merchants of Tallulah, who died in Vicksburg early Friday morning, were held Friday afternoon from Fisher's Funeral Chapel in Vicksburg, with Rabbi A. G. Lustburg officiating. Interment was in the Vicksburg Jewish Cemetery and was attended by a large crowd from Tallulah and a representative body of the Tallulah Boy Scouts. Mr. Abrahm is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fay Abrahm; one daughter, Miss Louise Abrahm; two sons, Charles and Salo, Jr., three sisters, Mrs. Leopold DeVries and Mrs. Morris DeVries both of Newellton, and Mrs. Howell Hollowman of San Francisco, Cal., and one brother, M. C. Abrahm of New Orleans. Pallbearers were as follows: Honorary, Herbert Segern, Ed Fortier, P. McCormick and Thomas Fortier all of New Orleans. Active: Henry Kline, Ben H. Stein, and Dr. B. B. Prior to Mr. Abrahm's residence in Tallulah he lived in New Orleans, Newellton and Vicksburg. He was a native of Tensas parish. For the past six years Mr. Abrahm has resided in Tallulah where he was engaged in the mercantile business. Deceased had been in ill health for some time and only recently had been carried to Vicksburg for further treatment. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and prominent in Scouting activities in Tallulah. Boy Scouts paid respect to the man who had so faithfully served them as councilor. Mr. Abrahm leaves many friends who will be grieved to learn of his passing and who extend to members of the family much sympathy.
