A visitation will be held on Sat., Nov. 8 at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral mass following at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Pittsburg. Burial will follow at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch. West was born in Tallulah, LA on March 16, 1951. He graduated from Richardson High School in West Monroe, LA and continued on to receive a Bachelor degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. West was married to Rosemary Boutte on Aug. 24, 1974; they were married 40 years. West worked as a Senior Staff Engineer for Chevron Oil Co. for 38 years. He enjoyed photography, chess, coin collecting and printing. West is survived by his wife Rosemary, daughter Chave', son West IV and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father West Alexander, Jr. and his mother Rosie Peterson Bynum.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Louis Guidry III Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o St.Finn Barr School, 419 Hearst Ave., SF 94112. The family of wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Kaiser Sand Creek in Antioch and the Kaiser dialysis unit in Martinez.
