All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William Allen - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 2, 1971 William Allen dies; rites held here Funeral services for William Allen, 76, of Tallulah, were held at 10 a. m., Friday, September 10 in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home here with the Rev. Cloy Chapman officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Allen died Wednesday at a Vicksburg, Miss., hospital after a brief illness. He was a turbine engineer for Chicago Mill for 42 years, and a resident of Madison Parish since 1920. Mr. Allen was a native of Vanduser, Mo. and was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge and Meadow Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jessie Allen of Tallulah; two brothers, Charles Allen of St. Louis, Mo., and Ben Allen of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were E. H. Townsend, Chester Deggans, William Beard, Sammy Tamburo, Wendell Sellers and G. W. Johns.
