Mrs. Alonzo was born April 28, 1932 in Brownsville, TX, the daughter of Raymond and Frances Valdez. She was a homemaker, and member of Word Aflame United Pentecostal Church in Camden. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Caterino Garcia; son, Victor Garcia; daughter, Bernice Strickland; grandson, Brandon Garcia; great granddaughter, Jamie Marie Ghrigsby; and brothers, Jimmy Valdez and Lupe Valdez. Survivors include her husband, Pedro Alonzo of Camden; sons, Joey Strickland and wife, Lela of Baton Rouge, LA, Wesley Strickland and wife, Vivian of Nacogdoches, TX, Thomas Garcia and wife, Rhonda, Andrew Garcia and wife, Pam, Raymond Garcia and wife, Linda, and Jimmy Garcia and wife, Becky all of Camden;daughters, Frances Ghrigsby and husband, Herman, Virginia McGaha and husband Larry all of Tallulah, LA, and Ernestine Harris and husband, Wesley (aka Possum), and Teresa Hollis and husband, Joseph all of Camden; brothers, Mike Valdez and wife, Mary of Lake Village, AR, and Pete Valdez of Corpus Christi, TX; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Alonzo will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 8, 2017 at Word Aflame United Pentecostal Church in Camden with Rev. Michael Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, LA. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 10:00am Monday at the Church.
