Ammons Services Are Thursday

TALLULAH, La. - Services for Alberta Nicols Ammons will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity 
Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ed Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross 
Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Ammons died Tuesday at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a lengthy illness. 
She was 91. 

She was a native of Innis, La., and a resident of Tallulah for the past 49 years. She was 
a former music teacher and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a 
homemaker and a member of Tallulah Trinity Episcopal Church.

Survivors include one son, Robert Lee Ammons Jr. of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Sara 
A. Shelby of Shrewsburg, Mass., Mrs. Ophelia A. Thompson of Tallulah, Mrs. Albert A. Berry 
of Waterproof; La., and Mrs. Betty Jane Brown of Jackson; one brother, Albert R. Nicols of 
Shreveport; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jack Millikin, James Sevier Jr., Billy Post, Bill Ziegler, Joe Berger, 
and Edward Berry Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Scott-Nicols-Post No. 100 of the American Legion.
