All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William Newton Beard - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 30, 1976 Funeral services for William Newton Beard, 66, of Tallulah were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meadow Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Dave Xxxell and Jerry Carter officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Beard died Monday at his residence in Tallulah after an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Union County, Miss., a resident of Tallulah for the past 20 years, a retired gin operator and a deacon of the Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Tallulah. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise L. Beard of Tallulah; one son, Calvin Beard of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene E. Miller Sr. of Wisner and Mrs. Tillman Flowers of Port Barrie: three brothers, Herman C. Beard of Coldwater, Miss.; Jamie Beard of Senatobia, Miss. and J. D. Beard of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. W. O. Roberts of Senatobia, Miss.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gene Butler, Kirby McCarty, Chester Deggans, Wendell Sellers, Gerald Lott and Ezra Townsend Jr. Honorary pallbearers were men of the Meadow Grove Baptist Church.
