JEFF C. BETTIS (This is assumed to be Gibson C. Bettis, Jr.) Mr. Jeff C. Bettis died Thursday night at the home of his brother, S. B. Bettis, in Tallulah. Mr. Bettis had been in ill health for some time and his death, while a shock to his many friends, was not altogether unexpected. Mr. Bettis has been a long resident of Madison Parish, being in the plantation business for several years. During the last several years he has been a deputy sheriff and his service in that office has been very efficient. The funeral took place yesterday from the residence and the remains were buried in the Silver Cross Cemetery. The Journal extends sympathy to the bereaved friends and relatives. The many friends of the bereaved family extend them their sympathy in their loss.
