Jack R. “Jackie” Bowden died Thursday, April 10, 2014, in McDonough, Ga. He was 73.

 

He resided at Lake Bruin near St. Joseph, La. and was the eldest son of the late Jack Bowden. 

 

Survivors include mother, Betty Bowden; his daughter, Desirea; his sister, Sonya Bowden (Doug) Williams; his brother, Andy (Martha) Bowden; his niece, Stephanie Bowden; five nephews, Kirk and Chad Williams, Todd and Drew Bowden, Jason Riley; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

 

Jackie graduated from Tallulah High School and served honorably in the United States Air Force, He was a lifelong, respected resident in the Tallulah area. Being the loving and caring person that he was, he will be very much missed and remembered by his entire family, especially by his best friend and longtime, loving companion, Faye Miller. May he rest in peace.

 

A memorial is planned at a later date.

Jack R. Bowden

 

A Memorial Service for Jack R. (Jackie) Bowden, age 73, will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the "Church of Tallulah" at 10:00 a.m.

 

Jackie passed away Thursday, April 10, in McDonough, Georgia. He was a resident of St. Joseph, Louisiana (Lake Bruin).

 

Jackie graduated from Tallulah High School. He served in the United States Air Force and was a lifelong and respected resident in the Tallulah area. Jackie was always loving and caring, his heart of gold and ever-present smile will be missed and remembered by his family and friends, especially by his best friend and longtime, loving companion, Faye Miller.

 

Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Jack Bowden.

 

He is survived by those who love him: his mother, Betty Bowden, his daughter, Desirea, his sister, Sonya Bowden Williams and her husband, Doug, his brother, Andy Bowden and his wife, Martha, one niece, Stephanie Bowden, five nephews, Kirk and Chad Williams, Todd and Drew Bowden, Jason Riley and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

 

The "Church of Tallulah" is located at 1104 Tampa Street in Tallulah.

 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cox Funeral Home Oak Grove, LA.
