All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Dorothy Slack Bratton - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, September 30, 1966 Dorothy Slack Bratton Buried In Memphis Thursday Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, September 29, from the Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Memphis for Mrs. O. D. Bratton, formerly of Tallulah. Interment was in Memphis Cemetery. Mrs. Bratton, before her marriage was Miss Dorothy Slack, daughter of Judge Aylmer Leak Slack and Mrs. Anna Slack, of a prominent family m the Parish for a long time. She was born in Tallulah and lived here until about fifteen years ago when the family moved to Memphis. She has a host of friends here and many relatives of the family. Dorothy as she was known to her friends was beloved for her sincere character, a loyal friend at all times, and until her death kept up with Tallulah through correspondence with her friends, and taking the home town paper for all the news. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, and made the request that remembrances to her be donations to the Tallulah Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mr. O. D. (Bish) Bratton, of Memphis, whose address is No. 84 St. Albans Fwy., Memphis, Tenn. Also surviving is her daughter, Mrs. Bill Betz of Crothersville, Tenn. and five grandsons and one granddaughter. And one sister, Mrs. Gussie Hebert of Tallulah and two brothers, Mr. Stuart Slack of Shreveport, La. and Talbert Slack of Lake Charles, La.
