All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Shields Collins Bray - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal December 11, 1991 Funeral services for Mr. Shields Collins Bray, 68, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev John Proffitt officiating and Rev. John Rushing assisting. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mr. Bray died Monday in the Delta Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. He was a retired banker a 30-year employee of Tallulah State Bank, a veteran of World War 11 and served in the Army Air Corps. Mt Bray was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and the Purple Heart. He was a former member of the Rotary Club and the Tallulah Country Club. He also belonged to Kappa Alpha fraternity. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Brooks Bray of Tallulah; one son, Shields Collins Bray Jr. of Fort Worth, Tex. and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Collins Thomas, Jim Thomas, Henry Sevier Jr., Edgar Lancaster, Harry Holt, Bill Colligan, James Reeves and Terry Murphy. Honorary pallbearers were Salo Abrahm, Donald B. Lancaster, Phillip Gordy, Lynn Vines and W. W. Ziegler Jr. The family requests that memorials be made to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Endowment Fund at 4401 Trail Lake Drive, Fort Worth, Tex. 76109.
