TALLULAH —Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lucy Brown, age 73, will be Monday, April 4, 2016, 
at First Baptist Church in Tallulah, La., with Bro. Martin Parker officiating. Visitation 
will be Monday, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery 
under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Brown died Thursday, March 31, 2016, after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death 
by her son, David A. Purvis; her father, Arlie Cox; her mother, Lucille Cox; her sister, 
Eva Dean Willis; and her brothers, Clayton Cox and Armon Cox. Survivors include her husband, 
Gene Brown; two sons, Edgar Purvis and Kevin Purvis and his wife, Crystal; two daughters, 
Kaaren Lynch and husband David and Laura Polk and husband Tommy; eight grandchildren, 
Jennifer Purvis, Tianna Brewer and husband Ernest, Jeremy Purvis and wife Myra, Jessica Purvis 
and fiancé Ben, Joseph Purvis and wife Kayla, Stephanie Purvis, Chance Lynch, and Mary Katlyn Lynch; 
and 4&2/2 great-grandchildren, Halie, Kimber, Teygan and David Allen and two on the way; 
one brother, Gene Cox and wife Bobbe; and one sister-in-law, Louise Cox.
 
Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Hodge, Donnie Frith, Ronnie Frith, Garrett Marsh, Dewey Brock and 
Larry Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Cox, Billy Cox and Mike Cox.
