A. Buckner Dies Suddenly Tuesday Night Favorite In Music Circles, Served On Town Council, Member Tallulah Lodge Edward Aylette Buckner, who died suddenly at 10:30 Tuesday evening at his home, had a host of friends here, who were shocked by his passing. He had just returned from an out-of-town business trip, and at the supper hour enjoyed his supper as usual, but soon after, complained of feeling badly, and still at a later hour, told Mrs. Buckner to get the doctor. After administrations by the doctor, he was apparently resting well and as Mrs. Buckner, who had been at his bedside continually, walked across the room she became aware something was wrong and at once by realized the end had come. Her son, William E. Buckner was also at home at the time. Another son, Louis Buckner who makes his home in Tallulah, was called and the third and oldest son, Aylette Buckner, Jr., lives in Vicksburg, Miss. Mr. Buckner was always a favorite in music circles here, and gave his beautiful lyric tenor to the choir of Trinity Episcopal choir over a period of twenty-five years. He was an Episcopalian and a member of the Masonic lodge, and past master of Tallulah Lodge No. 308. He served on the town council for many years. He was formerly cashier of the Madison National Bank, and has lately been associated with Delta Cash Wholesale Grocery. Funeral services will be held b from Trinity Episcopal Church at nine-thirty Thursday morning, with Rev. William S. Spilman officiating. Interment will be in the Natchez, Miss. cemetery in the family lot. Arrangements are under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Mr. Buckner's family on both sides were prominent Natchez people, his mother was of the well known Percy family from Mississippi. He is survived by his wife, Sallie Ellis Buckner, three sons, Edward Aylette Buckner, Jr. of Vicksburg, Miss, Mr. Louis Buckner and Mr. William E. Buckner of Tallulah. He has three grandchildren. His brother, Mr. Louis Buckner of Monroe, La. survives and three sisters, Mrs. H. H. Patton of Newellton, La., Mrs. Frank L. Roe of Bastrop, La., and Mrs. Lucille Gideon of Lambert, Miss. Pallbearers will be Robert C. Todd, William H. Morris, Harvey H. Patton of Newellton, La., Rodney Naylor and George Spencer of Monroe, La., George S. Yerger, Arnold Shields and George Kimbrough. Honorary pall bearers are vestrymen of the Episcopal Church, employees of Delta Cash Wholesale Grocery and all friends of the family.
