Also From Tallulah Madison Journal January 6, 1999 To all the people in Tallulah that know the Burris family: I would like to acknowledge that James C. "Jim" Burris, Jr.'s other survivors include his mother, Dorothy Burris, and two other sisters, Rose Williams of Wewoka, OK and Wanda Whitley of Tallulah. This is written in respect to James C. "Jim" Burris, Jr.'s mother who is not deceased. He also was preceded in death by his father, James C. Burris, Sr. and his brother, William Otis `Billy" Burris. I. Ruby Melugin, would not have wanted to be listed as a survivor if all of the surviving members were not listed especially my mother. This pertains to the obituary written in The Vicksburg Post on January 2, 1999. All our parents wanted was a decent place to live and a peaceful family in their last remaining years. We will continue to take care of our mother without the help of the survivors listed from Tallulah. We do not appreciate you for destroying our mother as she can still read and did read the obituary in The Vicksburg Post.
