Busby - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post June 19, 2015 TALLULAH, La. — Funeral services for Thurmon L. Busby, 86, will be Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 10 A.M., at the chapel at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with Bro. Pat Loftin officiating. Visitation is today from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mr. Busby was born Feb. 3, 1929, to Fannie Muse Busby and Sampson Busby. He served in the Korean War. He was a retired farmer and was also retired from working with the Vicksburg National Military Park. He loved hunting, fishing, and raising livestock. He was a deacon and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Busby is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Hodge Busby. Survivors include one daughter, Margie Alexander and her husband, Keith; two sons, John and Greg Busby; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Lovie Norton; and one brother, Durwood Busby. Pallbearers will be Jeff Reddick, Ryman Busby, Christopher Morgan, Montie Busby, Jake Busby, and Keith Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Busby, Ricky Busby, Gary Busby, and Luke Busby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mounds Baptist Church.
