All rights reserved. *********************************************************************************************** Mabel Porter Butler - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe News-Star February 26, 1935 TALLULAH, La., Feb. 26 — (Special) — Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Butler, who died at the home of her son, Alton Butler, in Monroe Sunday night were held here Monday morning with the Rev. C. K. Smith of the Tallulah Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross cemetery here. Mrs. Butler had been in ill health for two years. She was formerly of Meadville, Miss., but had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Edgar Lancaster near Tallulah since 1927. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are one son, Mr. Butler, of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Lancaster, five grandchildren and a brother, Clarence Potts [sic Porter], of Mississippi.
