Byrd Madison Parish, LA From Monroe News-Star March 13, 1972 DELHI — Funeral services for James C. Byrd, 44, of St. Joseph were to be at 3 p.m. today at Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Revs. C. C. Cornelius and the James W. Allen officiating. Burial was to be in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Delhi. Mr. Byrd died early Sunday at Hines General Hospital in Jackson, Miss., after a long illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary E. Byrd of St. Joseph; his father, I. C. Byrd of Tallulah; three sons, James Earl Byrd of Charleston, S.C., Sammy L. Byrd of Tallulah and Donald Wayne Byrd of St. Joseph; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Lee Smith of Mangham and Miss Cheryl Barton of St. Joseph; one brother, Melvin D. Byrd of Delhi and one sister, Miss Connie Sue Byrd of West Monroe. Pallbearers were to be John McCormick, Kenny Martin, Larry Grissom, Don Sebbron, O. J. Sikes and Sonny Sutterfield.
