AUGUSTA, Ga. - Bessie Mae Lee Cannon died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at University Hospital in Augusta. She was 78.

Mrs. Cannon was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Dolly Mae Lee; her husband, Richard Joseph Cannon; 
and two sisters, Dolly Mae Lee Gibson and Rosa Ann Lee Lynch.

Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Sandra Cannon Scott of Augusta, Ga.; a son, Calvin Tyrone Cannon of Itta Bena; 
a stepson, Richard Horace Cannon of Tallulah; three sisters, Dorothy Lee Coleman of Tallulah, Wilma Hollins of 
Houston and Clara Lynch of Winnsboro; a brother, Rev. Arthur Lee Jr. of Tempe, Ariz.; a godson, Earl Pinkney; 
three foster grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Tallulah. Burial will follow at 
Morning Rest Memorial Park. McFarland Funeral Home of Delhi has charge of arrangements.
  
Family hour will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Family and friends will be received at the 
Madison Tallulah Community Center following interment.
