Lee Cannon 74, of Buna, TX passed Aug. 16, 2016.

Services are Aug. 20, 2016 Visitation will begin at 8AM until Funeral at 10AM at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church,  420 S. 10th St. Silsbee, TX. Interment: Bessmay Cemetery, Buna, TX.

Bro. Lee Cannon was born February 16, 1942 the late Lawerence Cannon and Flora Natalee Collins Cannon in Holly Bluff, Mississippi.  Lee was the 4th of 13 children.

Lee was employed with Chicago Mill in Tallulah, Louisiana and then later moved to Silsbee, Texas.  In 1961, he began employment with Kirby Lumber Co.  In 1988, he was employed with Temple Inland in Buna, Texas until he retired in 2005.  After retirement, he became self-employed in the Lawn Care Service Business until his health failed.

Bro. Lee joined the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in 1974.  He was a faithful member and worked diligently in the Church.  He was Past Chairman of the Deacon Board, an usher, an active member of the Finance Committee, a choir member and on the Trustee Board.  He was also an active member with Brothers United.

Bro. Lee united in marriage to Penny Cotton on August 7, 1982.

Bro. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Lawerence and Flora Cannon; four brothers, Lawerence Cannon, Jr. Nathaniel Martin, Earl Lee Cannon and Eddie Cannon; two sisters, Callie Mae Houston and Emma Thomas; and one grandson, Demon Little, Jr.

Bro. Lee leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 34 years, Penny; Six children and two step-children, Theresa Cannon and Audrea (Herbert) Ruckett of Silsbee, Texas, LaTonya (Craig) Porter and Tiffany (Demon) Little of Houston, Texas, Duane Cannon of Jasper, Texas, Brandon (Shantell) Cannon of Beaumont, Texas, Lori (Gilbert) Noel of Houston, Texas and Brock Cotton of Tahlaque, Oklahoma; three brothers, Johnnie (Delores) Cannon of Beaumont, Texas, James (Tracy) Cannon and Jerry Cannon of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Velma (Carlester) Westbrooks of Buna, Texas, Dorothy Wright of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Lenetta Cannon Tillman of Houston, Texas; nineteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter, Aubrie; extended family, Bro. & Sis. Frank Chaney and Bro. & Sis. Ira Lee Brooks and family; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
