Carney - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, October 30, 1980 Services for Mrs. Leila S. Carney, 69 were Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Carney died Wednesday in Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Miss., after a short illness. A native of Crowville, Mrs. Carney had resided in Tallulah for more than 50 years. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Howard W. Carney Sr. of Tallulah; a son, Howard W. Carney Jr. of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Dowe and Mrs. Clara Ervin both of Tallulah; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Maxwell of Rayville and Mrs. Helen Eaker of Hammond; seven grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
