All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Payton Woodrow Carney Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 2, 1966 Former Tallulah Resident Dies In Lake Charles Funeral Services for Payton Woodrow Carney Sr., 47, of 2500 Aster St. Lake Charles, were held at 3 p. m. Tuesday in the chapel of Hixon Funeral Home. Burial was in Sallier Cemetery. Mr. Carney died unexpectedly Monday in a Doctor's Office of Coronary Thrombosis. He was with Sohio Petroleum Co. and had resided in Lake Charles 21 years. He was a graduate of Tallulah High School in 1940 and a Navy Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Theresa Carney; four sons, Payton W. Carney Jr. of Tallulah, John Micheal, Ernest James, and Donald Jeffrey Carney all of Lake Charles, four daughters; Mrs. Marguerite King of Monticello, La. Mrs. Sherry Hudson, Minnie and Saline Carney all of Lake Charles; His Mother Mrs. Payton W. Carney Sr., Tallulah, a brother Howard W. Carney, Sr., of Tallulah; two sisters; Mabel Lane, Tallulah and Myrtle Caldwell of Clarksdale, Miss. and four grandchildren.
