All rights reserved. ************************************************ Elvin Carter - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe Morning World, April 11, 1977 WAVERLY - Funeral Services for Elvin Carter 61 of Waverly, and a constable of Ward 6, Madison parish for a number of years, will be 10 a. m. Tuesday at Kidder-Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Rev. Marion Collier officiating. Burial will be in Providence Memorial park Cemetery in Delhi. Mr. Carter died Sunday April 10, 1977 at his residence near Waverly after a brief illness. He was a native of Point, Union Parish and a longtime resident of Madison Parish. He was preceded in death by his parents; Alonzo C. Carter and Nora Irene Hinton Carter, brothers James Alfred, Peter Hurtle, Carlos, Woodrow, and sister Lavonne McDath. Survivors Include two sons, Billy Carter of Searcy, Ark. and Jerry Carter of Fitchburg, Mass.; two brothers, Charlie Carter of Tallulah and Guy Carter of Monroe: four sisters, Mrs. Ardella Crider, Mrs. Corine Presley, Mrs. Laverne Nazet and Mrs. Susie Brownell, all of Delhi; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
