Carter - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 14, 1977 Funeral services for Miss Helen J. Carter of Tallulah were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned L. Stout officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Miss Carter who died Thursday morning in the Delta Haven Nursing of Tallulah after a lengthy illness was a native of Tyro, Miss. Miss Carter had resided in Madison Parish for 58 years, was a retired teacher, and taught in Madison schools for 30 years. Miss Carter was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tallulah. Survivors include two nephews, W. S. Carter of Ruston and Charles Carter of Monroe. Pallbearers were Tommy Wixson, Renford T. Williams, D'Elmer Williamson, Donald Collins, Dalton Fortenberry and Jack Millikin.
