All rights reserved. ************************************************ Henry Cason - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post Herald, June 27, 1937 Assessor's Son Is Found Dead At Tallulah Henry Cason, 25, Said To Have Been Despondent, Drank Poison Tallulah, La.-June 26-(Special)- Henry Cason, 25-year-old son of Assessor J. L. Cason of Tallulah, was found dead at Dr. Stevens' clinic here late last night. He had previously telephoned from his father's office to Ted Williams, local undertaker, whose suspicions were aroused and he with Sheriff A. J. Sevier and the youths father went immediately to the court house and searched the building. Young Cason had gone to a nearby drug store where he purchased and drank a portion, then went to the clinic where he expired in the doorway. The cause of the tragedy was attributed to despondency. The young man, who was employed in his father's office, is survived by his parents: one brother, J. A. Cason; and three sisters, Mrs. Douglas Fortner, Mrs. Albert Sherwin and Miss Carolyn Cason. Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon with Rev. George A. A. Tocher of the Episcopal church assisted by Rev. C. K. Smith of the Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in Silver Cross cemetery here. From Madison Journal July 2, 1937 H. Cason Takes Own Life With Poison Friday Henry Cason, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Cason, committed suicide Friday night, June 25, by taking poison he had purchased from the Delta Drug Company. Cason bought the tablets saying that he wanted them for his dog, it was reported. After it became known that he had taken them, he was rushed to the Tallulah Hospital and died there shortly afterwards. Funeral services were held from the home of his parents Saturday afternoon. He is survived by his parents, three sisters, Miss Carolyn Cason, Mrs. Douglas Fortner and Mrs. Albert Sherwin, and one brother, J. A. Cason.
