CHAPPELL DIES SUDDENLY Mrs. Bertha Chappell, 41, wife of Carter Chappell, died suddenly Saturday in the Waverly community. Mrs. Chappell had lived in Waverly for 30 years. She was well known and had many friends who will regret to learn of her death. She is survived by her husband; one son, Earl Chappell of Lake Village, Ark., and a daughter, Susie Lee Chappell of Kingsville, Texas ; five brothers, Christman Sikes and Melton Sikes, both of Waverly; Arthur and Wyatt Sikes both of Tendal and Horace Sikes of Lake Providence; four sisters, Mrs. John R. Frost of Delhi, Mrs. Claude Bryant and Mrs. Mile Cathey both of Waverly and Mrs. C. L. Fairchild of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and three grandchildren. Services were conducted Sunday at 2:30 p. m., at the home with the full during the month of September First Presbyterian church, officiating. McKie-Crothers Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Robert Williams, W. L. Taylor, J. P. Millican, Luther Bush, Aubrey McKinney and Ollie Chauncey.
