All rights reserved. *********************************************************************************************** Alex Clark - Madison Parish, Louisiana From The Tallulah Madison Journal (LA), May 13, 1932 MADISON PARISH LOSES BY DEATH OF ALEX CLARK Police Jury President Dies after Heart Attack at Home Madison parish lost the president of its Police Jury Monday when Alex Clark died at his home near Mound after a heart attack. He was stricken while at home and while Mrs. Clark was at school. He immediately sent for Mrs. Clark who arrived in a few minutes, with their children, and then he died within a few minutes. Mr. Clark had had similar attacks before but not so severe as the last one. The funeral services were held in Vicksburg Tuesday afternoon from Fisher's Funeral Home at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. C. P. Colmery of Edwards and Rev. H. N. Alexander of Delhi officiated at the rites after which the remains were conveyed to Bolton, Miss. for interment. The following served as pall bearers: W. H. Hewes, P. O. Benjamin, G. S. Yerger, Sr., C. E. Speed, W. C. Starrett, G. D. Currie, E. C. Montgomery and C. E. Wixson. Mr. Clark was born in Mississippi in the vicinity of Bolton and moved to Madison parish when he was 21 years of age. He has lived in the Mound section of the parish for many years where he has engaged in farming operations. He has been active in the affairs of the parish and for a number of years has been president of the Police Jury. He was 61 years of age and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Harned Clark; three children, Peggy, Alexander, Jr., and Robie; two brothers, C. E. Clark of [nverness and R. J. Clark of Mound, and three sisters, Mrs. Jim Hutchins and Mrs. Ida Hicks of Inverness and Mrs. Lily Baker of Clarksdale.
