ELM GROVE, LA - A celebration of the life of Gene Everett Clement will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Prucey of Elm Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. until beginning of service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery.

 

Gene (Papaw) was born on September 17, 1931 in Tallulah, LA and went to be with his Lord and Savior after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Annie Clement, his loving wife, Elizabeth Mae Thompson Clement, son Wayne E. Clement and daughter Cynthia Kay Holcomb.

 

Papaw enjoyed spending time with his family, eating good food, gardening, hunting and spending time with his pets Brutty, Spotty and Izzy.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Geraldine Lewis and husband, Ferman of West Monroe, LA, Linda Jo Turman and husband Dickie and Katherine Peters and husband Bob, all of Doyline, LA, his sons, Jack Clement and wife Kay of Haughton, LA, Richard Clement and wife Lisa, Kevin Clement and wife Carol and son-in-law Chock Holcomb, all of Elm Grove, LA; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Cliff Lewis, Jimmy Frazier, Michael Clement, David Peters, Jack Clement, Christopher Clement and Honorary pallbearer Caleb Clement.

 

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Bob Massingill and his staff and Schumpert Cancer Center and Anna and Camica for their love and care during this time.
