All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Dorothy Fairly "Dottie" Coad - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Baton Rouge Advocate December 23, 2012 A much loved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Sister passed away Friday December 21, 2012. She was born in Vicksburg, MS on June 7, 1914. She grew up in Tallulah, LA where she met and married her husband Stanley Ogden Coad who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents William Towns and Sue Darden Fairly and three brothers Jack, William, and Bob Fairly. She is survived by her daughter Ann Harris and son in law Allen, a sister and brother in law Sue and Bill Edrington. Grandchildren Amy Desobry and husband Ed, Annette Geriner and husband Andrew and three great grandchildren Caitlin and Court Desobry and Beau Geriner, sisters in law Bessie Fairly, Phoebe Fairly, and Carolyn Coad Rich. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Dorothy came to LSU where she pledged Chi Omega. She was a loyal and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church for over 70 years where she served as a Deacon and was actively involved in the Women of the Church. She was also a member of the P.E.O Organization and a volunteer at The Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Her family was the most important part of her life and she will be remembered for her deep faith in God and her loyalty to her family and friends. Donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Greater Baton Rouge and First Presbyterian Church. Visitation to be held at First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 10 am to 1 pm immediately followed by Service at 1 p.m. and burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
