All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Vores Joseph "Baby Joe" Colligan, Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, June 7, 2007 Vores Joseph "Baby Joe" Colligan, Jr. went to be with Our Lord on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the age of 85. He was a resident of Port Sulphur for over 50 years where he worked for Freeport Sulphur Company until his retirement. Having spent his childhood in Tallulah, he graduated from Tallulah High School in 1941 before entering the service. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served Honorably with the 11th Armored Division during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a life-long member of the Port Sulphur Baptist Church where he served as a teacher, deacon and preached may sermons there and at the City Price Baptist Church. Joe "Tiger" was best known for his gift of gab and his prowess on the golf course. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vores Joseph Colligan, Sr. and Carrie McCoy Colligan; his brothers, James Patrick "Pat" Colligan and William Travis "Bill" Colligan; his sisters, Sarah Colligan Breaux and Mary Colligan Street. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Emogean "Jean" Lowry Colligan; his daughters; Brenda Colligan Reddoch and Donna Colligan Spinney; and son, Barry Loyd Colligan; seven grandchildren, Angela Loudermilk, Corbett Reddoch, Marcus Reddoch, Ryan Colligan, Misty Colligan, Jack Spinney and Sarah Spinney; six great-grandchildren, Savannay Hurt, Autumn Loudermilk, Austin Colligan, Caleb Colligan, Tyler Phelps and Alex Reddoch and his sister, Rosemary Colligan Myrick. Religious Services were held on Wednesday, May 30 in the Mothe Funeral Home Chapel at 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey. Interment followed at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave. in Gretna under the direction of Mothe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the Colligan Family would appreciate donations in Joe's name to be made at the Port Sulphur Baptist Church Rebuilding Fund, P.O. Box 1028, Port Sulphur, LA 70083.
