SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police say the elderly driver who crashed his minivan in a one-vehicle wreck Thursday has died. Police say Dennis Pete Coltharp II, 80, crashed about 4:35 p.m. near the intersection of Cedar Street and Texas Avenue. No one else was reported injured in the crash. Coltharp was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police believe Coltharp suffered from a medical condition that contributed caused to the wreck. Shreveport Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene and, because of the serious nature of the wreck and because an injury was involved, Shreveport police crash investigators were called to the scene.
