Colvin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal July 4, 1974 Belton C. Colvin Funeral services for Belton C. Colvin, Tallulah, were held at 1:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Graveside services were held at 4:30 in the Colvin Memorial Cemetery in Dubach. Burial was under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Colvin died late Wednesday night Madison Parish Hospital after a long illness. A native of Lincoln Parish, Mr. Colvin has resided in Tallulah since 1951. He was manager of the local State Employment Office until his retirement. Mr. Colvin was also a deacon in the First Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a veteran of World War II and a member of Scott-Nicols-Voak American Legion Post No. 100. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Terelle Gray Colvin of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Jennifer Robert of Tallulah, and Mrs. Kathy Turner of Monroe; his mother, Mrs. Maye L. Colvin of Dubach; and two brothers, Luther and Douglas Colvin, both of Dubach. Pallbearers were Gaines Byram, Bud King, Clay Crawford, W. B. Williams, Jr., Myron Erwin and Eugene Wright. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the First Baptist Church and Dr. H. S. Provine. The family requests any memorials be made to the First Baptist Church or the Cancer Society.
