Colvin died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 79. Mrs. Colvin was born in Winnsboro, La., and had lived in Tallulah for 25 years. A housewife, she was of the Pentecostal faith. She is survived by her mother, Emmie Carraway Peavy of Winnsboro; four sons, William S. Cummins of Vicksburg, Jerry L. Cummins of West Monroe, Douglas L. Cummins of Winnsboro and Lee E. Cummins of Bastrop, La.; three daughters, Virginia C. McNease of Tallulah, Ann L. Gowan of Bastrop and Barbara C. Plumley of Collinston, La.; two brothers, Floyd Peavy of West Monroe and Thomas Peavy of Haughton, La.; three sisters, Phyllis Colvin of West Monroe, Shirley Puckett of South Carolina and Alice Banks of Middletown, Va.; a stepson, Roger Colvin of Bastrop; three stepdaughters, Bonnie Kasin of Fargo, N.D., Lisa Cooper of Monroe and LaRee Jones of Greensboro, N.C.; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Henry Carraway Cemetery in Winnsboro with the Rev. Greg Nichols officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home in Tallulah. Pallbearers will be grandsons James Aswell, Wayne Aswell, John Welch, J.D. Cummins, Scott Cummins and Michael Cummins.
