William L. "Bill" Coody, 74, of Tallulah, LA passed
away on Oct. 29, 2025. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025 at
the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA at 11 a.m. The
memorial services will follow from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Richmond Civic Center in
Tallulah, LA.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Buford O. Coody and Vallie L. Coody; his sister, Rebecca "Becky"
Deckard; and his brother in laws, Pete Bolton and Mike Henley.
Bill is survived by his sisters, Edna (James) Hearn of Redwood, MS, Renae
C. Bolton and Brenda Henley of Tallulah, LA, and Carolyn "Kitty"
Coody of Winnsboro, LA; as well as his brother, Robert (Anne) Coody of Delta,
LA. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Muriel "Merle" Deckard
of Tallulah, LA; special friends, Altrecia Hutto and April Hutto of Vicksburg,
MS; and his little buddy, Jack Sullivan of Kingsland, GA. He leaves behind many
nieces and nephews, to whom he was fondly known as "the man with the
flip-flop."
Bill served in the United States Army from 1973-1978, after which he
joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served until his retirement in
1998. Following his military career, he worked at Clear Creek Golf Course until
his passing.
