Copes - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 27, 1993 Funeral services for Mr. Purvis M. Copes, 80, were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Ringgold. Charles Boyer conducted the services. Mr. Copes died Saturday at the Vicksburg Medical Center. He was born in Warden and had lived in Tallulah for the past 50 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallulah, a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post #100 of Tallulah. Survivors include his wife, Otha Lee Copes of Tallulah; one daughter; Shannon Boyer of Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, Gary Purvis Copes of Lafayette and Dan Merrill Copes of Tallulah; three sisters, Jewel Crane of Harrisonburg, Hazel Myers of St. Joseph and Elsie Edwards of Warden; two brothers, Eugene Copes of Monticello and Wilson Copes of Tallulah and six grandchildren. Nephews served as pallbearers.
