All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Robert Roy Cox - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal February 24, 1972 Rites held for Robert Roy Cox Funeral services for Robert Roy Cox, 70, of Tallulah were held Wednesday at Willow Bayou Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Smith officiating. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home here. Mr. Cox, a Tallulah resident for the past 36 years, died Monday at Delta Haven Nursing Home after a long illness. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Fleeta Cox of Tallulah; a son, Roy J. Cox Jr., of St. Charles. Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. C. U. Purvis of Tallulah and Mrs. James Burnitt of St. Charles; six brothers, A. W. Cox, Dee O. Cox, both of Tallulah, Weldon Cox of Nashville, Tenn., John A. Cox of Baton Rouge, Elmer Cox of Shreveport and Edgar Lee Cox of St. Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Merrill of Gilliam and Mrs. O. A. Bradley of Transylvania; 17grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Albert Bedgood, Winifred Parker, Horace Russell, Earl Taylor, Saniford Parker, Bill Bedgood, Bilbo Sullivan and W. O. Wiggins.
