March 13, 1958 ~ June 24, 2025 67 Years Old

Thelma Cox, age 67, of Calhoun, LA, went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2025. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after a life lived with strength, grace, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Born on March 13, 1958, Thelma was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Mimi, and faithful friend. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived each day with compassion, humility, and purpose. She touched countless lives with her kindness, her wisdom, and her love for others. Above all, she sought to honor God in everything she did.

Thelma loved to play golf with her husband and the golfing ladies at Calvert Crossings. Time on the course brought her joy, laughter, and deep friendships that she treasured dearly. She had a deep love for the Calvert Crossing community, which became an extension of her family and a source of joy in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents: C.H. and Estelle Smith; mother and father-in-law, Clayton and Louise Cox, brothers: Tommy J. Smith and Jim E. Smith, brother-in-law: Mike Cox, nephews and niece: Bo Smith, Shane Reagan, and Brytni Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Billy Cox, children: Kyle Cox and wife Kim, Kayla Gosdin and husband Scotty, and Kody Cox, grandchildren: Clayton Cox II and wife Jordy, Chloe Cox, and Carter Cox, siblings: Charlie Smith and wife Janie, James Smith and wife Missy, Gladys Williams and Cindy Head, nephews and nieces: Steve Smith, Cliff Smith, Brian Smith, Cole Williams, Ryan Reagan, Brady Cox, Alyson Mitchell, Jennifer Smith, Amber Ezell, and Kasey Netherland.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Tallulah. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend and honor the life of this incredible woman.

Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior—healed, at peace, and more alive than ever.
