W. Crosby Dies James William Crosby, 50, well known Madison Parish plantation owner, died here early Friday, May 8, at his plantation home on Montrose Plantation. Crosby, who was a native of Seminary, Miss., previously owned an automobile agency in Tallulah and was a member of the First Baptist Church and a past president of the Tallulah Lions Club. Funeral services were held Saturday evening at three o'clock in' the First Baptist Church here with Rev. Shirley Briggs officiating. Interment, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Crosby; three sons, James W. Crosby, Jr., Starkville, Miss., Robert Turner Crosby, Tallulah, and Billy Crosby New Orleans; one daughter, Delores Crosby, Tallulah: mother, Mrs. Mary Crosby, Laurel, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. George Evans, Laurel, Miss.; four brothers, Willie Crosby, Laurel, Harrison and M. C. Crosby, Seminary, and Winston Crosby, of Collins; Miss. Pallbearers were Nelson Goss, Ralph Loe, E. C. Woodyear, C. E. Walker, Ilar Osborne, Lamar T. Loe and Bill Eakers.
