All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Parker Dawson - Madison Parish, Louisiana 10/17/1885 to 3/2/1961 From Madison Journal, Tallulah, LA March 10, 1961 Parker Dawson, a life-long resident of this parish, died at his home on Roosevelt Street, Thursday, March 2, 1961, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 12 at 1:00 P. M., at New Morning Star Baptist Church, Talla Bena, with the Rev. G. C. Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with Harris Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He had been a member of New Morning Star Baptist Church for 35 years, serving as a deacon for the past 30 years. He was also a member of several other organizations. Survivors include his wife, Irene D. Dawson; seven daughters, Emma D. Redden of Tallulah, Mary Reed, Mamie Davis, Alberta Carter, Irene Brooks, Willie Mae Anthony and Pearlina Davis, all of San Bernardino, Calif-, a son, Fred Dawson, Sr., of San Bernardino, Calif.; a sister, Fannie S. Ward of Tallulah; four brothers, W. R. Dawson and Isaac Dawson, both of Tallulah, John W. Dawson and Roosevelt Dawson, both of Chicago, Ill.; 35 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
